Growing Indonesia’s Data Center Talent for a Sustainable Digital Future

The Urgent Need for Data Center Talent in Indonesia

Indonesia’s rapid digital transformation is driving unprecedented growth in the data center industry. As demand for reliable and sustainable digital infrastructure continues to rise, one of the most urgent challenges faced by the industry is the development of skilled talent. Data centers require professionals with expertise in operations, engineering, sustainability, and digital innovation — a workforce that is still in short supply across the nation. Without sufficient talent growth, even the most advanced facilities risk falling short of their potential.

IDPRO’s Kick-Off FGD on Sustainable Data Center Standards

Recognizing this need, IDPRO (Indonesia Data Center Provider Organization) has taken a bold step by launching the Kick-Off Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Sustainable Data Center Standards, held on 28 August 2025 at Le Meridien, Jakarta . The forum brought together government, academia, and industry leaders to discuss frameworks and best practices for building sustainable data centers in Indonesia.

DataGarda’s Commitment to Human Capital Development

As a proud participant, DataGarda contributed to the discussions by highlighting the critical importance of investing in human capital alongside infrastructure. Our commitment goes beyond technology and facilities; we believe that empowering Indonesia’s next generation of data center professionals is essential for long-term resilience and competitiveness. Through our Learning & Development programs, partnerships with leading universities, and collaboration with IDPRO, we aim to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry practice.

Strengthening Synergy Through Collaboration

One of the key moments during the FGD was the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing between PT PLN Energi Manajemen Indonesia (PLN EMI), represented by Pak Henri Firdaus, and DataGarda, represented by our CEO Pak Hendra Suryakusuma, who also serves as the Chairman of IDPRO.

This MoU reflects a shared commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s energy and digital infrastructure synergy, ensuring that future data centers are not only sustainable but also supported by reliable and innovative energy solutions.

Building a Sustainable and Talent-Driven Future

In line with the discussions at the FGD, DataGarda will continue to focus on supporting initiatives that foster talent readiness, sustainability, and innovation. By working together — industry, government, academia, and associations — we can ensure that Indonesia not only keeps pace with global standards but also leads the way in shaping a sustainable, future-ready digital ecosystem.

✨ At DataGarda, we remain committed to “Intelligent Solutions for Efficient Operations”, ensuring that our growth is always aligned with the broader mission of advancing Indonesia’s digital future.
