On September 11, 2025, DataGarda once again demonstrated its commitment to advancing Indonesia’s digital infrastructure ecosystem by collaborating with Universitas Indonesia (UI). As part of the Operations and Management of Data Center (OMDC) program, Pak Ruli Asrul, one of DataGarda’s expert team members, delivered an engaging session on “Module 1: Introduction to Data Center Designs and Fundamentals.”
This initiative is part of DataGarda’s broader mission to bridge academia and industry by equipping students with not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical insights into the real-world operations of data centers.
Building the Foundation: Why Data Center Fundamentals Matter
In his session, Pak Ruli highlighted that understanding the fundamentals of data center design is a critical first step for anyone who aspires to enter the field of digital infrastructure. Data centers are more than just buildings with servers—they are the backbone of the digital economy, enabling everything from cloud services and e-commerce to artificial intelligence and financial transactions.
The session introduced students to the core building blocks of data center infrastructure, including:
-
Power systems that ensure uninterrupted operations.
-
Cooling technologies that maintain optimal performance.
-
Network interconnectivity that supports global digital communications.
-
Physical and cybersecurity measures that safeguard sensitive information.
Pak Ruli also discussed the importance of global standards and tier classifications, emphasizing how design impacts efficiency, scalability, and sustainability. This foundation will serve as a reference point for students as they advance to more complex modules in the OMDC program.
Strengthening Academia–Industry Collaboration
Through the OMDC program, Universitas Indonesia students gain direct exposure to industry best practices and real-world perspectives. This collaboration underscores DataGarda’s belief that education should go beyond textbooks and theories—it should prepare students to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
By engaging with experts like Pak Ruli, students can better understand not just the “how” of data center design, but also the “why”—why efficiency matters, why sustainability is a priority, and why Indonesia needs a robust digital infrastructure to remain competitive globally.
DataGarda’s Role in Talent Development
For DataGarda, investing in talent is just as important as investing in technology. The OMDC program is part of our continuous efforts to develop a skilled, future-ready workforce for Indonesia’s growing data center industry.
We believe that talent development is a key pillar of national digital resilience. By sharing our expertise and creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, DataGarda is proud to contribute to building a strong foundation for Indonesia’s digital future.
As we move forward, upcoming OMDC modules will explore advanced topics such as certification standards, sustainability practices, and operational excellence. These sessions will provide students with comprehensive knowledge that combines theory, practice, and the latest industry trends.
Looking Ahead
The session with Pak Ruli Asrul marked an important milestone in the OMDC journey. It not only introduced students to the fundamentals of data center design but also inspired them to think critically about their role in shaping the future of Indonesia’s digital infrastructure.
At DataGarda, we remain committed to creating platforms for collaboration, education, and innovation—ensuring that the next generation of talents is equipped with the right skills, knowledge, and mindset to thrive in the digital era.
✅ Stay tuned for the upcoming OMDC sessions, as we continue this transformative journey with Universitas Indonesia.
